About Me
I currently live in Fort Wayne, Indiana and working at a marketing agency that services such companies as Ferrari and Audi. I think of my life as a journey that has taken me to many places and introduced me to many people and things. My goal is to grow each day a little bit in my work, my relationships, and in my outlook on life. I’ve always been open to learning new things and learning from others around me and over the years, I have become quite a bit more humbled. In the end, I’d like to leave my footprint on this earth. Though in relative perspective to the sheer size of this Earth and number of people on it my footprint may be small, but I hope it is meaningful.
Justin and I are having our first child in June. His name is Jude.
Interests
Photography
I’ve always been interested in photography, but recently decided I want to make it a more serious hobby. I’ve taken a few photography classes to learn more about my camera and about the art of taking pictures. I want to do more than simply capture a scene – I want my pictures to tell a story.
Music
I love music – always have. When I was young, I played the violin and it inspired me to branch out into other things. I now play the piano and guitar, but the hobby has faded over the years. I look for inspiration each day to get myself motivated to pick up my guitar, which is currently collecting cobwebs, and my piano, which is currently sitting in my parents’ livingroom. In the meantime, I get my doses of music satisfaction from listening to musicians I truly enjoy – Jason Mraz, Colbie Calliat, One Republic, The Beatles, Green Day, Coldplay, Natasha Bedingfield, Alicia Keys, The Doors, Foo Fighters, Jack Johnson, James Taylor…the list could go on and on. I use music to relax and gain a grander perspective on life.
Books
I don’t read as much as I should, but it is one of my goals to be reading more – for leisure, to keep up with my industry, and to become a better person both personally and professionally. My favorite authors are Richard Harris, Dan Brown, and Dean Koontz. Some industry publications I read are .NET and Advertising Age.
Movies & TV
I enjoy movies that make me feel, inspire me, challenge me, but not scare me. I’m not a big horror movie fan. You won’t catch me in front of my TV watching a TBS horror movie marathon! Here is a taste of what I like – Memento, The Diary of a Mad Black Woman, Shawshank Redemption, Requiem for a Dream, The Usual Suspects, and Cloverfield. When it comes to TV, my tastes are across the board. Here’s a taste of what I like on the tube - Bones, So You Think You Can Dance, House, CSI, The Office, The Colbert Report, American Idol (don’t hate), American Dad, and Family Guy,
Friends
I love my friends. In all their unusual and quirky ways, each of them makes me a better person. My friends are writers, accountants, guitar experts, fashion designers, therapists, geologists….and my best friend is my husband (who is an IT guy).
Making the World a Better Place
This is an interest I haven’t explored much of but it is one of my new goals. I’m into politics, but it makes my head spin so I don’t immerse myself in it! My parents have always been into giving back by being involved in Boy Scouts, Relay for Life and so forth and I can only hope that someday I repay the world as much as they have!
